"And first place is...Charly Jordan"

The forerunner for Charly's winning streak started when she was born, but for the sake of this site we will start in 2009 with the Diamondkid Triathlon in Blue Diamond, Nevada. After Charly saw her mom complete her Iron Girl triathlon, a few weeks later Charly decided to participate in her first triathlon. She wanted another trophy to add to her trophy wall. However, she had never formally been trained in swimming, her asthma had been acting up this spring, and her old running shoes were no where to be found the night before the race.  It was looking like it was going to be one of those "well, now you can say you have done a tri" events.  But it was more. Way more.

Waiting to start the swim...there were so many kids one would think it would be like herding cats, but the event was so well organized
who needs swimming training?
beauty body outta the water
transition area...it was a cold day in Vegas, only 62 degrees so the kids were shivering and blue lipped
fortunately...there was a boy in front of her during the bike portion of the race that kept trying to edge her out. That lit her fire to the point of action above and beyond. She was amazing and passed that boy.She is in the running portion here, "what, 15 mph speed limit? not for charly's legs"
Her family waited awhile for the awards ceremony.
They announced Charly was the first place winner in her age division!
A proud mom and her fast fast daughter.

Since then, being on the top of the podium in the first place position is the only place she feels satisfied.
